New in 2025: A medical-dental integration program that improves patient health
December 11, 2024The new year will provide you with a unique opportunity to improve patient health and grow your practice through our new medical-dental integration program, Dental4Health®. This valuable program will empower our dental and health plans to work together to help your patients live healthier. Most employer-based Asuris dental plans will include Dental4Health, effective January 1, 2025.
Enrolled members will receive additional, Evidence-based Dental BenefitsSM—including preventive and periodontal services—that have been shown to improve overall health and lower inpatient medical care costs in similar medical-dental integration programs. Members who have only a dental plan can self-enroll.
We’re able to review the medical claims of members with Asuris health plans to identify and automatically enroll those with one or more eligible medical conditions (listed below)—this is something stand-alone dental carriers cannot do.
Help your patients take advantage of these valuable benefits
Services are covered 100% and don’t count toward members’ calendar-year maximum—eliminating out-of-pocket costs increases the likelihood that more patients most in need of dental care can benefit from the essential services you provide.
Automatic enrollment is key to the program’s success—it allows us to proactively engage those enrolled so that they understand and use the program’s services.
We regularly engage enrolled members to make sure they are aware of the relationship between preventive or periodontal dental services and their overall well-being; however, the program has a greater impact when our provider partners participate in member education, so we encourage you and your staff to help your patients understand the value of these important benefits. Since patients in the program are eligible for four visits per year, we recommend that you schedule all four visits during their first visit.
If any of your patients have only a Asuris dental plan but have one or more eligible medical conditions, we encourage you and your staff to suggest that they enroll.
Verifying patient enrollment
We also recommend thoroughly reviewing your patient’s medical history before starting treatment. You can confirm that your patient is enrolled in Dental4Health on the MyDentalCoverage website.
